Stroll to the Suffolk  villages of  Botesdale & Rickinghall, which are 1.5 miles away, where you can enjoy good food & ales at local Inns. If you prefer, you are welcome to bring back a Chinese take away or fish & chips, to eat in the dining room.
If you are on business or pleasure, we are ideally situated for East Anglia.

The Norfolk town of Diss has good rail links to Norwich and Ipswich ( 22 mins) and London Liverpool St ( 90 mins). Diss has a notable Mere, complete with ducks, a very small but interesting museum. The town was visited by Sir John Betjeman and is where he wrote his poem for Mary Wilson.

The historic Suffolk town of Bury St Edmunds is 16 miles away. Visit the famous Abby and gardens, shop in the friendly picturesque town, take a tour around the Green King Brewery ( with samples of course ) Cap the day off with a show at the Theatre Royal and a meal at one of the many restaurants.

The county town of Norfolk is Norwich city which  is about 20 miles away. Good parking and also park and ride. Take the short climb to the Castle and fill up with local  and Norfolk Broad history. Walk along cobbled streets to visit the Cathedral and Cloisters. Take the water taxi with local drivers  giving a commentary along the way, or walk along the riverside path and study the medieval City wall ruins. Lots of restaurants, shops and theatres: Something for everyone.

The wonderful University town of Cambridge is worth at least one or two days. Park and ride is available here. There are exquisite antique, craft and book shops. Top quality designer clothes boutiques . The University colleges are full of history, one can then relax as you take a punt on the river Cam.

Grove Flock Farm is on the St Botolph Way 10 mile circular walk, starting here can take one into the village in time for lunch at the Bell Inn, just about half way. Knettishall Heath and the start of both the Anglia Way and the Peddars Way 75km walk is 4miles away. We will willingly take you to the start of your trek. For very serious walkers, Peddars Way meets the start of The East coast Path, good luck.

Wyken and Thelnetham Vineyards; Whisky distillery at Harling. The working Pakenham mill; Walks and cycle rides abound.

Day boat hire is available at the Norfolk Broads. Relax as you travel at 4 miles an hour, gazing at the vast skies that the Norfolk Broads are famous for. Keep an eye out for Kingfishers, Herons, in fact a multitude of birdlife - but beware of the low bridge at Wroxham !

Picturesque Aldburgh and the festival in late September. One of the few Martello towers remain here. More bird watching at Minsmere.

Southwold is a charming north Suffolk seaside town on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Almost an island, being bounded by the North Sea to the East, by the River Blyth and Southwold harbour to the South-West and by Buss Creek to the North, there is just the one road in to and out of Southwold. With its working lighthouse, beach huts, award-winning pier, busy harbour, cliff top cannon and of course the beach, Southwold is a quintessentially English resort town.
